Could You Nice That?

Last weekend I was able to pop down to London and visit the If You Could Collaborate exhibition in trendy East London. Luckily for those of you who’ve missed it, I had the initiative to take a few piccy’s.

Oliver Jeffers and Aaron Ruff produced these quirky and humorous 4D specs.

The more I looked at these figures the more I chuckled to myself, cheap laughs courtesy of Chrissie Macdonald and Marie O’Connor.

Overall, I loved the concept of artists, designers, creatives collaborating on any subject of their choosing, and the range of subjects and media was pretty darn impressive. I was disappointed that the video projector had packed up during my visit so I didn’t get to see Michael Moloney and John Hooper’s time lapse film. Although the gallery itself resembled a student degree show, it was nice to see something really different from some pretty big names.

Although Craig Ward, Sean Freeman and Alison Carmichael’s ‘Calligraffiti’ was inspired my favourite work was Anthony Burrill and John Griffiths’ graphical representations of chance encounters in space. Very cool indeed.
